Extra-curricular courses
Extra-curricular courses and exams
In order to broaden the individual competence profile, it is generally possible to voluntarily take additional courses and examinations that are not part of the actual course of study. Theoretically, the entire range of courses offered by RWTH Aachen University is available for this purpose, provided that there are no capacity limitations and that the respective lecturer agrees to participate.
It is possible to have voluntary additional benefits with grade and credit points written on the grade levels or final on the final certificate in order to officially document the additional competences. The prerequisite for this is that the corresponding examination performance has been graded. In principle, the grades of voluntary examination services are not taken into the final grade.
Registration via RWTHonline for the course is possible or can be made manually via the lecturer. Registration for the examination via RWTHonline is usually not possible if examination services are not anchored in the curriculum. The respective examination committee provides a form for this purpose, which can be downloaded from Forms and Templates. Please submit the completed form, which has been signed off by the Examination Committee, to the examiner at the latest, together with the examination performance, after consultation with the lecturer. The latter then forwards the note directly to the Central Examination Office for registration in the grade mirror in RWTHonline. All examination services anchored in the grade level may be taken into account on request when preparing the diploma.
These regulations also apply to language courses taken at the Language Centre of RWTH Aachen University.
