What is SPE Student Chapter Aachen?

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is an international organisation of students, managers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the oil and gas industry. However, the focus is not only on the conventional, but also on new technologies, geothermal energy and the use of big data.

SPE RWTH object is to highlight transition between fossil fuels and renewable energy, the storage of CO2 and the development of climate-neutral solutions in the energy sector. Therefor SPE RWTH Aachen organizes talks with professionals in their field on a monthly basis. Joint company visits and casual events such as BBQ´s are also part of the program. In general, the SPE offers an exchange with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere.

At the same time, the talks offer the opportunity to gain an insight into the daily tasks of a professional geologist and thus highlight future opportunities for students. SPE also offers members global online seminars on a wide range of topics.
