Visit of the German President to RWTH partner university

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Indonesia to mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Indonesia. In his only visit to an Indonesian university, he was accompanied by Ambassador Ina Lepel and Dr Anna Lührmann, Minister of State for Europe and Climate, during a panel discussion on "Food Security, Global Challenges and Interdependencies" at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Yogyakarta on 17 June. RWTH alumnus assoc. Prof. Doni Prakasa Eka Putra presented the GetIn-CICERO laboratory, which was set up with funding from the BMBF, in a poster presentation.

The rector of Gadjah Mada University, Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed.,Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. underlined in her speech the importance of the cooperation with Germany, especially through the long-standing cooperation with the RWTH and the DAAD.
