Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in geosciences, geography, environmental sciences, environmental or civil engineering with at least 180 ECTS, of which at least:
  1. 20 ECTS in mathematical, chemical and physical modules
  2. 45 ECTS in geoscientific modules
  3. 5 ECTS in geoscientific fieldwork
  • Interest in nature-related and geoscientific tasks
  • Good IT skills
  • Good verbal English skills; the degree program is taught entirely in English
  • Good verbal and written mode of expression

English (B2)

Admission with stipulations

Possible up to a maximum of 20 ECTS. The stipulations have to be fulfilled before registration of the Master's Thesis.


In addition to the regular semester fees, you should calculate around 500 Euros per year for field courses.


The realization of semesters abroad and practical semesters are strongly recommended. There are so-called “Mobility modules” available for the appreciation of achievements abroad.
